The kick off to summer this year started with The Allman Brothers and Blues Traveler. Never was a BT fan, but always wanted to see the Allman Brothers, who by the way did not disappoint. The Allman Brothers at this point consisted of band leader and namesake, Gregg Allman, Jaimoe, Butch Trucks, Warren Haynes, Allen Woody, and Marc Quinones. The setlist was stocked full of classics. Great evening outdoors.
Blues Traveler did little to win me over. You either like them or you dont.

Right after the Allman Brother, came the good old Grateful Dead, with more parking lot fun, campers, twirling people, veggie sketti lady and more. This truly became a summer ritual in Noblesville. Even the county cops would come out to marvel at the hippies traveling across the country with the Grateful Dead. Almost everybody has a good time and the local authorities for the most part left people alone to do their thing.
First set got off to slow tempo start, kind of hung around that tempo throughout most of the show.Overall, not my favorite GD show ever, but most Dead shows arent that bad even when they arent that good.
Second set seemed to get a better groove with BoR, but Victim or The Crime killed whatever rhythm was going. Ship of Fools is a great song, but placed at this point in the set continued to drive th emoodof the show down. Kind of weird ending the second set on Sugar Magnolia, an upbeat classic, after the show had lacked energy all night.
